BHIMDUTTANAGAR, APR 13 - The bodies of three of the four girl students , who jumped into the Mahakali river, have been recovered from Dattu VDC of Darchula.
The bodies were recovered from the river in Ward no. 4 of the VDC, according to Armed Police Inspector Devi Singh Thagunna. The three were found with their hands tied together with a shawl, suggesting that they decided to jump into the river together, said Thagunna.
One among the four may have been separated from the group while being swept downstream by the river. A search for the fourth girl is underway, police said.
The four school mates were reportedly returning home from their school after receiving their examination result. Of the four, three had failed in the exam while one had passed. The girls have been identified as seventh graders 12-year-old Mamata Chunara and 14-year-old Puja Koli and sixth graders 12-year-old Nitu Lohar and 13-year-old Mamata Chunara of Dattu
